The history book of the sun contains several chapters. For more than 100 years now, we have been running a shop full of delicacies of all kinds - Mair Mair in Vipiteno's old town centre. It all started with our great-grandfather. He was known for his good wine. Many travellers spent their last few lire on it on their way home. For the locals, he prepared one or two sandwiches to keep hunger at bay.

The beautiful light turquoise town house is not only home to the two-floor shop full of delicacies, but used to be a (multi-family house) / hotel too. While the Mair family ran the store, the other family built their dream hotel, called the Sole, in the same building.

At some point, however, space became short and the hoteliers built their own property not far from the bright turquoise townhouse, where they continued to run the Hotel Sole. And the hotel has remained in family hands until today.

After countless years of hard work, our predecessors took their well-deserved retirement in 2019 and so the reception behind the front door was no longer staffed. We took it into our hands and filled it immediately. We wanted to see the brine blossom like the delicate green of spring, literally. Inside you will find green areas that create a wonderful atmosphere in the room ...

How did we get our name? It is simple: because we like to welcome our guests with a warm smile - which is exactly how we learnt it from our ancestors. We are now taking it into a new era and have given it a facelift and refurbished it. Our first thought was to make it look like a ray of sunshine in Vipiteno. While renovating, we focussed on sustainability and installed our own solar panels, which produce part of our energy, on the roof of the hotel. The other part is sourced from Vipiteno's district heating plant. In our rooms and apartments, various types of stone from South Tyrol are used directly by the stonemason to create chic interiors - including some very rare ones. Each one has its own story, just like the Sole. You will also find all kinds of nature in different shapes and materials. Let yourself be surprised!
